We will require basic familiarity with algebraic geometry / algebraic combinatorics / commutative algebra. We strongly encourage those candidates that there are working on the theory of algebraic surfaces (advanced level) or working on hyperplane arrangements. It is expected that candidates are fluent in English.Opis zadań:
It is expected that the PhD student will actively conduct research in the area related to the research grant, take active part in meetings of the research group and conduct research towards writing a PhD thesis related to the project’s topics.
Candidates that they wish to apply are encourage to ask the PI for a description of the project.
The successfull candidate will receive a scholarship of 4200 PLN per month starting from 1st March 2020 (there is a possibility to start later, i.e., 1st April 2020) for the period of 30 months. In addition, the grant provides financial support for travel and other reasonable costs.
The main place of work will be in the city of Kraków.

• list of publications and scientific talks (if applicable);
• Master Thesis (if applicable), electronic version would be enough;

Information on processing of personal data
Pursuant to Art. 13 (and/or) 14 of the Act 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union (UE) of 27th April 2016 regarding the protection of natural persons during processing their personal data and on the free movement of such data, and the repeal of Directive 95/46 / EC (general regulation on data protection), (Journal of Laws of the EU L.2016.119.1 of 04/05/2016 - hereinafter: "Regulation" or "GDPR"), we would like to inform you that:
1. Data Protection Controller:
The Data Controller of your personal data is the Pedagogical University of Cracow (2 Podchorążych St., 30-084 Cracow, web site: www.up. krakow.pl). The Data Protection Controller may be contacted either via an e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org or in writing to the mailing address indicated in the first sentence.
2. Data Protection Officer:
Data subjects may contact the Data Protection Officer designated by the Data Controller in matters relating to: processing of personal data, use of personal data processing rights by writing to the e-mail address email@example.com, or the Data Controller’s address, as indicated in point 1.
3. The Purpose of Personal Data Processing:
The Pedagogical University of Cracow processes the personal data for the following reasons:
- preparation, implementation and performance of the agreement pursuant to art. 6 par. 1 point b) of GDPR);
- archiving in order to comply with legal obligations imposed on the Controller pursuant to art. 6 par. 1 point c) of GDPR;
- fulfilling the justified interest of the Controller, in the form of seeking possible claims or defending against claims related to the agreement pursuant to art. 6 par. 1 point f) of GDPR.
4. Recipients of Personal Data:
The collected personal data will be made available to entities and public authorities authorized to process personal data on the basis of the generally applicable law and entities processing personal data at the request of the Data Controller related with the performance of the entrusted task.
5. Data Storage Period:
Personal data will be processed by the Data Controller until the elapse of the period necessary for the preparation and performance of the contract, including mutual settlements and archiving.
6. Rights of Data Subjects:
Data subjects have the following rights: right to access to their personal data (information about the processing by the Data Controller), including obtaining a copy of the above mentioned data, the right will be implemented in a technically and legally possible scope, rectification (correction of data when they are inconsistent with the actual state), right to erasure limit of personal data processing in accordance with the regulations. The collected personal data are not subject to automated decision making, including profiling. Providing personal data is voluntary but necessary for the preparation and performance of the contract.
7. Supervisory Authority in the Field of Personal Data:
The supervisory authority in the field of personal data is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office. Data subjects, who believe that the processing of their personal data violates the provisions of the Regulation, have the right to lodge a complaint with the above-mentioned supervisory authority.
