JPIAMR 13th Call Partner Search Tool

This is a match-making section for JPIAMR 13th call - One Health interventions to prevent or reduce the development and transmission of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

General Information

  • Type: Partner looking for project
  • Organisation: Manchester Metropolitan University
  • Country: United Kingdom (UK)

Research area

  • Scientific area(s):
    1. Understand the impact of interventions on development and transmission of AMR
    2. Design, implement, evaluate, and compare innovative interventions to control the development and transmission of AMR
  • One Health Setting:

    Environment

  • Keywords:

    Large-scale model; Multi-disciplinary approaches; Natural Wetland; Biochemical flows; Computational Pharmacology

  • Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

    We have been working and developing efficient hydrodynamics models for environmental and civil engineering. For example, lattice Boltzmann methods for studies on nutrient transport in agriculture and antibiotics transport in large-scale real water flows for better control and management of antibiotics. Our models can further be developed and adapted for the first time to investigate the mechanism, evaluate and assess innovative interventions on the development and transmission of antibiotic resistance for a project fitting the current JPIAMR call. (see https://www.mmu.ac.uk/computing-and-maths/staff/profile/index.php?id=2568 for more of the expertise).

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

    As antibiotic resistance widely exists in the environment such as water and air, through which it develops and proliferates, studying the characteristics of biochemical flows containing AMR using an efficient flow model may (1) shed a novel insight into understanding of impacts of interventions on the development and transmission of AMR; (2) be applied to evaluate and assess innovative interventions on AMR; and (3) help developing new interventions on AMR. I would like to join a project in which my expertise can play a complementary role for better understanding, evaluation and development of innovative interventions on the development and transmission of AMR in order to achieve a natural and sustainable control and management of AMR.
