JPIAMR 13th Call Partner Search Tool

This is a match-making section for JPIAMR 13th call - One Health interventions to prevent or reduce the development and transmission of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

General Information

  • Type: Partner looking for project
  • Organisation: Department of Poultry Diseases, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn
  • Country: Poland (PL)

Research area

  • Scientific area(s):
    1. Understand the impact of interventions on development and transmission of AMR
    2. Design, implement, evaluate, and compare innovative interventions to control the development and transmission of AMR
  • One Health Setting:

    Animal Health

  • Keywords:

    Pseudomonas aeruginosa; Streptococcus; Staphylococcus; virulence factors; antimicrobial resistance genes

  • Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

    We have experience in veterinary epidemiology with particular focus on selected bacterial and viral pathogens that could pose a hazard to public health. Our microbiological and molecular biology laboratories are very well equipped (equipped, among others, with an epMotion 5075 pipetting station, numerous gradient thermocyclers for classical and qPCR (Lightycyler 96), and the latest QX 200 system for digital droplet qPCR – ddPCR). We also have access to an immunology laboratory (FACSCanto II flow cytometer, FACSAria II cell sorter, Vi-Cell XR cell counter, ELX 800 spectrophotometer for ELISA and ELX 405 plate washer) and microscope laboratory (Gemini 450 scanning electron microscope). We have access to clinical samples of numerous animal species like farm animals (cattle), pet animals (dogs, cats), exotic animals, and birds (domestic pigeons, ornamental birds). We have banked the field strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Salmonella isolated from the listed above animal species. We have also access to the PCL3 safety class pavilion with eight separate boxes for experimental infection of avian species, which allows us to conduct research on live animals in strictly controlled conditions. We have extensive experience in molecular analyses and microbiological examinations.

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

    Any project related to antimicrobial resistance, resistance genes, virulence genes or its expression, virulence factors in Pseudomonas aeruginosa or other bacteria isolated from various animal species.
