  • Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

I am a medical doctor and a specialist clinical microbiology. I am a senior registrar Rigshospitalet, Denmark, a tertiary, highly specialized hospital. I am a skilled professional in laboratory and clinical research with focus on antibiotic use and antibiotic resistance. At our lab, I am performing animal experience (mice studies). We performed whole genome sequencing of thousands of isolates every year – with focus on Gram negative strains – but the ability to include all species. We are about to implement the use of an online surveillance tool, to evaluate the spread of bacteria within the hospital setting. We can access patient data on co-morbidities, antibiotic treatment, infections (bacteria, fungal, virus) and therefore have access to extensive epidemiological data. Synopsis of research capacities 1. Animal experiments 2. Whole genome sequencing 3. Tools of surveillance of spread of resistant bacteria 4. Extensive patient and laboratory data for epidemiological studies 5. Specialist of antibiotic resistance (ESBL, CPE etc.) 6. Specialist knowledge of the effect of antibiotic treatment 7. Knowledge of antibiotic stewardship programs.

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

I am looking to join a project with the aims to understand the interventions to avoid transmission of resistant bacteria and use this understanding to design interventions to control this transmission in healthcare setting as well as the community.
