  Kenya has been experiencing the rising cases in the antimicrobial use (AMU) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in both humans and animals over the past years. This was attributed to the unchecked usage systems of antibiotics in agriculture and clinical sectors. To curtail this problem the government of Kenya through ministry of Health and that of agriculture, livestock, and fisheries; enacted policies intended to provide equitable, affordable, and quality health services to people and ratified the international animal health and food safety treaties and agreements and conventions together with veterinary policy which promotes the multisector collaboration and approach where antimicrobials are used diligently. Therefore, this proposal is to evaluate the impact of the laid policies on the usage of antimicrobials, development, spread, and environmental contamination of antimicrobial resistance bacteria.
