General Information

  • Type: Partner looking for project
  • Organisation: Muni University
  • Country: Uganda (UG)

Research area

  • Scientific area(s):
    1. Understand the impact of interventions on development and transmission of AMR
    2. Design, implement, evaluate, and compare innovative interventions to control the development and transmission of AMR
  • One Health Setting:

    Human Health Animal Health

  • Keywords:

    bacterial pathogenecity Natural Antimicrobial Agents Genetic Resistant Determinants

  • Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

    My major interest is in bacterial pathogenecity. I have been studying antimicrobial drug resistance patterns, identifying resistance determinants in bacteria through genetic and morphological characteristics. My study on carbapenem resistance in Acinetobacter baumannii revealed the coexistence of carbapenem resistance genes with genes responsible for aminoglycosides resistance. I have also worked on roles of natural antibacterial agents on MRSA Also designing vaccines using virulent genic elements from EHEC

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

    I am seeking to join a research project on the role of natural anti-microbal agents, characterization of genetic resistant determinants in bacteria.
