JPIAMR 13th Call Partner Search Tool

This is a match-making section for JPIAMR 13th call - One Health interventions to prevent or reduce the development and transmission of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

General Information

  • Type: Partner looking for project
  • Organisation: INRAE_ National Veterinary School of Toulouse
  • Country: France (FR)

Research area

  • Scientific area(s):
    1. Understand the impact of interventions on development and transmission of AMR
    2. Design, implement, evaluate, and compare innovative interventions to control the development and transmission of AMR
  • One Health Setting:

    Human Health Animal Health Environment

  • Keywords:

    Pharmacokinetics; animal studies; mass spectrometry; Hollow Fiber Infection Model; intestinal microbiota

  • Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

    We are currently involved as a partner in 2 JPI AMR project. We have expertise to assess in vitro and in vivo (rodent and large animal species) the effects of innovative strategy to limit the selection and spread of resistance. In vivo, we can assess the influence of antibiotics or innovative strategies on the carriage of resistant bacteria in the intestinal microbiota of large animals (PMID: 19270132). We can also conduct PK studies in large animal species (pigs, calves, sheep, horses) including the animal experiments, the quantification of drugs by mass spectrometry and the analysis of data (PMID: 32878175). In vitro, we can use Hollow Fiber infection Model and CDC Biofilm Reactor to mimick the PK of antibiotics or other substances and assess their effects on resistance selection in planktonic or biofilm bacteria (PMID: 29636741). As our laboratory has an analytical platform, we are also able to quantify many drugs in complex matrices (biological and environmental) by different separation techniques mainly based on liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry and optical detection (UV and Fluorescence). (PMID: 30119021, PMID: 22047769, PMID: 27501187)

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

    Any project needing the quantification of substances or needing the assessment of the effects of an intervention in advanced in vitro models, in rodents or in large animal species. Any project designed to explore the dynamics of antibiotic resistance and antibiotics along the continuum “antibiotic-treated animals / organic waste products / soil”.
