The research team led by Professor Marcin Poręba from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology (Wrocław Tech) in collaboration with the American researchers from Genentech have found a way to prevent a dying cell from breaking apart. Their research findings have just been published in Nature. The National Science Centre has funded the research conducted by Polish researchers.

We have selected 76 successful early-career researchers under SONATINA 10. They will be awarded a total of over PLN 60 million for their development, including basic and applied research, full-time employment and foreign fellowships.

Researchers from the Jagiellonian University, in collaboration with partners from Belgium-Flanders, will carry out an international research project on performance monitoring and feedback processing. They were awarded PLN 1.5 million under OPUS LAP for their research.

Sixty-nine researchers joined the ranks of the winners of the tenth edition of NCN’s small grant initiative. Their research will include studies on novel drug delivery systems for antifungal therapy, the architectural accessibility of historic buildings for people with special needs, and the mechanical properties of aluminium alloys. The current results apply to proposals submitted in April.

The National Science Centre plans to launch new calls in cooperation with the Spanish Agencia Estatal de Investigación (AEI), which will give Polish researchers the opportunity to obtain funding for bilateral projects carried out jointly with partners from Spain.
