Wymagania:

We are seeking a scholarship holder who meets the following criteria:

• Is enrolled as a PhD student at the WAT doctoral school in the field of materials engineering.(*)
• Holds a master degree in materials science or a related field.
• Possesses fundamental knowledge of synthesis methods and optical properties of nanostructured semiconductor materials, particularly ZnO.
• Has basic knowledge (experience is welcome) in the production and characterization of porous materials (such as anodic aluminum oxide).
• Demonstrates readiness for daily laboratory work during the scholarship period and for regular meetings with the project supervisor.
• Has a strong command of the English language, both in speech and writing.

Opis zadań:

The project aims to investigate the optical, luminescent, and other properties of porous nanostructured semiconductors with meticulously designed geometry, structure, and morphology, both before and after surface modification. This includes preparing core-shell nano-systems and studying the effects of surface plasmon resonance. Among the tasks assigned to the doctoral scholarship holder will be:

- Preparation of porous material (anodic aluminum oxide) with specific geometry.
- Fabrication of freestanding arrays of semiconductor (e.g. ZnO) nanostructures on selected substrates.
- Morphological, structural, and optical analysis of well-arranged semiconductors before and after surface modification.
- Active participation in the preparation of scientific publications.

Warunki zatrudnienia:

Work location: Military University of Technology , Warsaw, Poland
Expected scholarship payment period: 24 months
Start of scholarship: October 2024
Amount of scholarship: 3400 PLN/month under the scholarship agreement (in addition to the regular doctoral scholarship awarded under the SDR WAT, amounting to approx. 2800 PLN/month for the first 2 years, thus in total about 6200 PLN/month).
