On Wednesday, 14 October, the winners of the 2026 NCN Award will be announced during the ceremony at the Wawel Castle. The ceremony will be broadcast live on our YouTube channel, starting at 6:30 p.m.
The NCN Award is the most prestigious distinction for early-career researchers in Poland. Every year, it is granted to three researchers for their outstanding basic research in three categories: Humanities, Social Sciences and Art Sciences, Physical Sciences and Engineering and Life Sciences. This year, the Award will be presented for the fourteenth time. The Award Chapter composed of the NCN Director and NCN Council members selected the winners from among 102 nominees.
This year, the award will highlight the celebrations of NCN’s fifteenth anniversary and, for the first time, will be held at the Wawel Castle, which is an event partner. The event will be hosted by Dr Łukasz Lamża from the Copernicus Center.
The event will be held under the patronage of Science in Poland (Nauka w Polsce).
