Dr Joanna Baran

A graduate of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. She completed first-cycle studies in biology and second-cycle studies in "Ecology and Evolution". She continued her doctoral studies at the Faculty of Biology of Jagiellonian University. During her studies, she completed a foreign internship as part of the ERAZMUS+ program in Portugal at Lisbon University. She has also been a contractor on numerous research projects, including three OPUS projects and one SONATA grant.

She willingly shares her knowledge both at conferences - domestic and foreign - and through activities popularizing science, such as the Night of Biologists.

Travel, photography and dog enthusiast.

She has been the discipline coordinator at the National Science Center since 2026.
