The Copernicus Festival will take place on 20-25 May in Krakow. The National Science Centre is a partner of the festival and NCN grant winners will be featured in panel discussions and debates. 

On 12 and 13 May, the academic community from Podkarpacie discussed the trends in science, AI’s impact on research, global approach to research, mobility, and interinstitutional and international collaboration. The NCN Days in Rzeszów are now over.

The Swiss National Science Federation (SNSF) awarded 29 grants for multilateral research projects performed by researchers from Switzerland, in collaboration with research teams from Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Poland and Romania. Science published an article on cold super-Earths which are common, low-mass exoplanets orbiting their host stars at large distances, written by a team of astronomers, including scientists from the Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment (OGLE) led by Prof. Andrzej Udalski from the University of Warsaw. Their research is co-funded by the National Science Centre. 

The first life science publication in Nature in the 21st century produced entirely by Polish research institutions explains the enhanced efficacy of mRNA-based drugs and paves the way to new therapies. The article was published on 17 April 2025.

Researchers alongside civil servants and representatives of social organisations and business discussed research priorities for a green, inclusive and resilient Europe. On 1 April, a meeting was held in Warsaw to address future international calls for proposals and initiatives involving the National Science Centre.
